All about our Vacation to St.Lucia!

Two weeks ago, we were in St. Lucia on the most amazing vacation! I couldn’t wait to come back and tell you all about it! I will start by saying that we booked through my sister in law, Ashley, who is a travel agent. It is SO nice to have someone else deal with the booking and all the details! If you are looking for a good travel agent- you can reach out to her at Ashleyw@btatravels.com

Let’s dive in!

Where We Stayed….

We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. There are three different Sandals resorts in St. Lucia, and you can travel between all three (meaning you can eat at the restaurants at any of the resorts, go to the pools, beaches, etc). We didn’t go to any of the other Sandals resorts, but we did meet people who were visiting our resort. From what we heard from others, it sounds like the other resorts were a little more of an older crowd and quieter. We had a TON of honeymooners at our resort, and every night there was a good amount of people staying in the pub till it closed! So I guess depending on what kind of environment you are looking for, may determine which resort you should pick.

I will say that our resort was a good hour and half drive from the airport. Honestly, that was my least favorite part of the entire trip. It makes for a long travel day, so just plan for that when you are booking your trip. I personally wish we had planned to have one more day there, since our first day was pretty much a travel day. We got there on a Monday, and left on Friday. So we really only had 3 full days in St. Lucia. I would recommend staying at least 5 nights for this trip.

Food and Drinks

Let’s talk about the FOOD! This is the part I always want to know about when booking an All Inclusive trip! How was the food?! I am a huge foodie…. so I will always give you my true thoughts on food! The food at our resort was AMAZING! You can see a few of the pictures here, but pictures don’t even do it justice! Everything was super fresh, the restaurants were very clean, and everything I ate was delicious! They had a ton of different restaurants to choose from, but we only ate at a handful because of time! We did go to the sushi restaurant twice though, because it was that good! (We are also huge sushi people!) I also had a tuna steak at a seafood restaurant that might have been the best Tuna steak I have ever eaten! Let’s just say I take the “all you can eat” at an all inclusive resort very seriously! I tried everything I could!

The drinks at the resort were good. I won’t say that they were great, but I am also not one who is very picky or knows a lot about alcohol. I will say, I ordered a skinny margarita from many different bars, and it tasted different almost every time! They did have a sparkling wine that was very good though, and I drank that with dinner a couple nights. They also made a good rum punch! Overall, there is plenty of different kinds of alcohol to meet the needs of whatever you may want!

What We did….

As I said earlier… we were only really in St. Lucia 3 full days. Two of those days, we just hung out at the beach and the pool. The beach was absolutely amazing. They had rafts floating out in the sea that could swim too and float on, swings (pictured above) and hammocks. They had lots of beach chairs available as well! Also, they had water sports you could do like paddle boarding, kayaks, snorkeling, sailboats, water skiing, and more at the resort! We had great ambition to go paddle-boarding one day… but we never made it :) Needless to say, there is a ton to do right at the resort!

The pool was also very nice! There were a couple other pools there too, but we only hung out in the main pool where the swim up bar was located. Most people ended up in this area by the afternoon. Chairs were hard to come by here, but we just left our stuff by a table and went in the pool. We had no problems at all with anyone messing with our stuff.

The third day, we went on an excursion for all day! We took a bus to a nearby town and got on a big catamaran that took us to see the gorgeous pitons (that is what St. Lucia is known for), a beautiful waterfall, a sulphur springs mud bath, and we got to snorkel! The trip also included a delicious creole buffet lunch and drinks. It was an all day trip (we left around 7:45 AM, and got back to our resort around 4 PM), bu it was one of the best days we had in St. Lucia! We booked our excursion from the booking agent at the Sandals resort.

Behind us are the famous Pitons that St. Lucia is known for!

Entertainment

Sandals had the BEST entertainment! As I said earlier, if you were looking for something to do after dinner…. you could find something! They had a pub that was open late each night, and they had an amazing DJ. The next night, they had Karaoke, and that was so much fun as well! Wednesday night was “country night” for entertainment, and they had an amazing performer come in and perform a concert. He would take requests, got everyone out dancing, and even taught us how to line dance! He was so good!

The next night, they had another performer sing and play at the piano bar. He was amazing too! He would take requests, and it was a great time! Funny, I thought that we would get so much sleep in St. Lucia… but we ended up staying out til midnight every night! There was plenty to do, and it seemed like a ton of people who wanted to hang out as well.

Overall, it was an amazing trip. We ended up seeing these double rainbows on the last morning there. It was such a great reminder of God’s promises and the blessing of the trip.

We will definitely be going to back to St. Lucia one day, and I highly recommend adding it to your travel list! Drop me any questions about our trip below, and I will do my best to answer!
